Where to get Married in Jamaica?

Jamaica is perfect for a relaxed and intimate Caribbean Wedding, but where to choose?
Jamaica is such a beautiful island and really has something to offer everyone, whether you want to chill on seven miles of stunning sand in Negril, dance to reggae and dancehall in Kingston or swim in beautiful waterfalls and lagoons in Portland, this island has something to suit all tastes. Referred to as the Island of Enchantment, it’s the perfect location for a romantic and magical wedding by the Waves.
There are so many fantastic areas to choose for your wedding it can be difficult to narrow it down. I am often asked which part is my favourite, or where would I suggest?
Here are four of my favourite areas which should definitely be at the top of your list when considering a stunning tropical wedding in Jamaica!

Portland – Check out Port Antonio, Boston Bay
Portland is one of my absolute favourite parts of Jamaica, It’s super lush and tropical and has a whole different feel to other parts of the Island, stunning scenery and laid back vibes, it’s perfect for a wedding somewhere beautiful but a bit off the beaten track.
This area offers so many beautiful places to visit whilst there too, one of the most romantic beaches of all time is Frenchman’s cove. It’s so romantic, once when visiting I was told that I was lucky it was available to visit, as the day before it had been closed off for Beyoncé and Jay-Z, so if it’s good enough for them then it must be worth a visit. Portland is home to some of the best attractions on the Island, whether you fancy Rafting on the Rio Grande or the Blue lagoon, visiting stunning waterfalls such as Reach Falls or eating delicious food at the Boston Jerk Center, Portland certainly has a lot to offer.
Montego Bay
Montego Bay is the most well known of the wedding destinations in Jamaica, it’s a perfect base for exploring Jamaica and offers some lovely wedding venues from beach resorts to grand historic houses such as the famous Rose Hall, if private and intimate villas in the hills with views overlooking the bay are more your thing, a favourite of mine is the secret gem Waterfield Retreat which offers something a bit more off the beaten track. For weddings, Montego Bay offers something for everyone and is home to some of the best wedding suppliers on the Island.
One of the more popular areas for tourists, this location offers lots to do, whether it’s relaxing at Doctor’s Cave Beach, visiting the lively Hip Strip or soaking up some culture at the Montego Bay Cultural Centre at Sam Sharpe Square.
Negril
Negril is another one of my favourite areas in Jamaica which probably has something to do with its famous 7 mile beach. Known as the “Capital of Casual”, Negril is full of laid back vibes, live reggae on the beach, delicious food and a super chilled atmosphere.
Negril is perfect for an intimate and relaxed wedding and boasts a plethora of perfect venue options from seaside resorts in the heart of the area, to intimate villas which can accommodate weddings to stunning hotels located on the gorgeous Negril Cliffs. Negril has incredible turquoise waters and some of the best sunsets I have ever seen.

Ocho Rios
Ocho Rios or known by the locals as Ochi is a town on the North coast of Jamaica, perfect for adventurers, it’s home to some of the island’s most famous attractions such as Dunn’s River Falls, Mystic Mountain and the Blue Hole. Once a fishing village, Ocho Rios is now a bustling resort with a busy bay beach and cruise ship harbour.
Ideal for partying, it offers great nightlife and I have seen many a great concert in Ochi. It’s home to many lovely venues, so whether you are looking to say I Do in front of the Waves or at an intimate villa set in lush tropical gardens, Ocho Rios has you covered.
